Panel truck roof seam

Hey all,
Happy Labor Day..I'm actually off this year I was just toying with the idea of filling the roof-to-body seam. I haven't seen this seem filled on many, (one to be exact), panel trucks. I assume mostly because of work involved. I am mostly thinking of it from an aesthetic point, but also what is the best way to seal it up in case the paint gets cracked, scratched, etc. I stripped it all down to bare metal and it was covered with epoxy...but does that really seal such a crevice? The attached pic shows the seam where it meets the door opening....

panel truck roof seam.

i recently re-skinned my 1972 C-10 roof. i used 3m 8115 Automix Panel Bonding Adhesive. it was expensive but that stuff was worth every penny! i have a similar seam across the rear of the cab roof . the 3m adhesive filled it up and stayed in the groove without gravity run out.it is waterproof also. good luck R, Phipp

Use short strand fiberglass filler, and hope it doesn't crack.

short of welding the seam, this IS the best choice. Just be sure to get the seam as clean & dry as possible before you apply 8115 and leave it set-up over night. Fiberglass filler WILL crack out, not maybe.

Good luck with it.
