Parking wars

Ever watch parking wars, Now I know I maybe a southern red nick, but now 35 parking tickets to 1 person ($300.00 tickeks and $700.00 in fines) for tickets for 18 years to 1 person. How do they keep getting a drivers lic. ours have to be renewed every 4 or 5 years at max. how they keep getting a new 1.
I guess its true, they don't want to stop it, they just want the money for braker of the law.
They could stop DUI if they wanted. They Just have a van, and when they had a suspect, just strap them in a chair. and have a breathing device come over they're face and analyze they're breath. If it came back positive, a 44 maximum would be placed between they eyes and go off, the chair release the straps and throw them in the back until they had a truck load then go unload them. I asure you in 30 days there would be NO DUI.
Now I know it sounds rough, I use to drink 2, but if the penalty was back enough I'd have quite a lot sooner.

DUI can be stopped, but we are a strong on writing laws and extremely weak on enforcement. I have not been to Germany in many years, but I bet they do not have a DUI problem. Years ago, the bars, pubs, and beer garden parking lots were full after closing time and it was interesting watching the hung overs retrieving their cars the next day. Driving did not stop their drinking, but strong enforcement stopped their driving after drinking.

X3, interesting history with not too much B.S.

35 tickets ought to get a day in the clink for each ticket plus the fine.

Mandatory jail time for first offense. About 2 weeks minimum ought to get anyone's attention. I mean 2 weeks- nothing off for "good behavior" , or overcrowding or any other bull ****. Second offense 90 days, as above- no exceptions. No room in the system, you say? Pitch a gd tent, says I. And there's a sheriff doing just that.

Three DWI's? This is tantamount to reckless endangerment/attempted manslaughter, IMO. Third strike gets you the loss of drivers license, period, for ever, no exceptions and as much fines as you care to pile on, who cares- this is an alcoholic, period- who is out of control. Get 'help' at #1 or #2, 'cause there ain't gonna be no coming back from #3.

If I recall correctly , my cousins who were raised in England say there is no second chance on drunk driving in the UK . First offence and your license is pulled permanently .

pulling a license does nothing. it is the fines and probation fees that get their attention the first time. second time the lawyer fees will break them. third time they got to jail .

But then again I can't help but wonder what the penalty for driving without a license in the UK is . A year in jail maybe ?

I've been to Norway several times - the jails used to be full of the drunks. Once, off you go for a certain length of time, twice, well so long, been good to know ya and so on. You do not drink and drive there and expect to stay 'free' - period. But the population is a fraction of ours as is the actual livable land.

While we have a drinking and driving problem in the USA, in many cases it's the lawyers pleading down the offense with the DA or judge to something like DWAI or even a stop sign penalty and the much smaller fine and points. Then off you go for a few to celebrate 'beating the system - often, again" If that could be stopped, then there would be a lot more folks who had their names printed in the paper with DUI/DWAI after it and maybe even a few that spent some slammer time

Shine is right on this one.... Texas Don't F around with their DUI laws. A DUI will bury you here, or at least if your a US citizen and can be persecuted by the system. When I lived in Washington the laws are more lax and I would be more inclined to gamble if i was in the gray area that all drinkers experience. Here In TX I Designate or call a cab. In that regard the move has been healthy for me.
