part one of my first ever paint job...cycle tank

well guys,
i finished my first ever real paint job (seriously, i've never done any of this before). did everything front to back from bodywork and blocksanding, primer, wetsanding, etc.
as the results show, there is no substitute for doing your research, asking questions, doing it the right way, no shortcuts.

small piece for a buddy. in the same batch i also did a full tin set for his bus. partners sportster, but i cant get the pics until tomorrow so here's the first half....

its an old wassel tank.
auto air colors candy rootbeer over metallic gold with tape out graphics, variegated gold leaf.
5 coats ppg concept clear, wetsanded to 2000 and buffed and polished.

i'm pretty proud of the way it turned out.
thank to many of you guys for the priceless info on wet sanding, mixing primer, buffing and polishing and other little tips and tricks.

hope ya like it. i'll post the sportfighter glitter gulch tins tomorrow.

enjoy!

Especally the leaf. Really clean.
