Parts for emergency brake installation

I just purchased a Lokar emergency brake package for my 37 Plymouth. Problem is, the "U" shaped connector between the under-dash pull handle and the brake cable is too narrow to fit around the handle. It has an inner width of 3/8" and I need one with a 9/16" inner width. Where can I find one that is wider or will I have to make a custom one?
