Parts sources for 55 Pontiac?

Followup from this thread:
Are there any vendors that carry upgrade parts for these cars? I want to upgrade to disk brakes up front and will be pulling the original V8 and Auto (tranny is bad) and putting in a 350ci/200 4R that I have sitting in the garage. Are there any mount kits for the Chebby V8? If not, I can fab up my own, but don't need to reinvent the wheel if the mounts are available.
Thanks,
Tim

55 pontiac

I made my mts as i went along. there are no ft disc kits that I know of. The price of the stock parts blow.Be sure to have the exhaust manifolds/headers on the car as you drop the eng in. it will save you grief down the road. I have a 55 post car with a 350 /350. with vortec heads. works good for me. had i known i would have bought a canadian 55, they are built on a chev frame with hanging pedals. just a thought.

AND, a 389 will bolt into your 55 (I did it to mine in 1961).

There is a disc brake set up available from Fatman fabrication that includes 2" dropped spindles.

The third member interchanges with any pontiac third member back to about 1937. This is important because there were so many ratios available. I routinely bought 4.30 gears out of 6 cylinder 50's stick shift Ponchos for $15 back in the day. And a 389 tri-power with a 4 speed and a 4.30 gear will handle almot anything on the street that you might run across, except those 11 second streeters.
