Yeah, don't do it. You can look online to do a search on these heads, you'll find more complaints than praises. You get what you pay for.

From what I have herd they don't flow any wear near what they claim. You would probably be better off spending the extra money on a good set of heads.

Pro Comp and Patriot are two different companies, Patriot heads are made over seas in Asia some were. (Kind of wonder why they call them Patriotís?) Pro Comp are getting better but have heard a lot of complaints about them too. Save a little more and get some Edelbrock heads

I'd stick with the tried and proven name brand stuff.
Dart, GMPP, Edelbrock, AFR, Brodix, RHS etc all make great heads for your street/strip 400sbc.

How fast do you want your Malibu to be? (Horsepower)

400 hp from a 406SBC is pretty easy stuff.
So you're looking for a solid 12sec ET capable Malibu that cruises nicely, sounds good and does not require big maintainse, I gather.

How about something at is an honest 460-470hp and a ton of torque and requires not much more than regular oil changes?

Heads Dart 11521122P
OR
Heads Summit/Brodix Summit SUM-162111

Either cylinder head choice requires the steam holes be drilled in the decks to match a 400 SBC head gasket before installation.

Camshaft+ Lifter set CL12-250-3
Rocker arms SUM-G6906

Intake manifold Edelbrock 7501
Carburator Proform 67213
Or
Holley 0-82751

Torque converter ATI 208330
Custom built stall speed (3400rpm) ATI tech will advise

3.73:1 gears

These are all Summit part numbers.
This is a goof proof , fun 406 street/strip combination that delivers the goods at a good price.
You can fill in the blanks with pushrods, oil pump, gaskets timing set etc.
You can order this over the phone, Summit will ship to your door in Canada.
If you buy a "off shore" (Asia) manufactured cylinder head you are subject to a Duty tarriff charge when you import into Canada. The name brand (made in N. America) stuff is "duty free" under NAFTA. You only pay the PST tax.

I bought a set of their big block heads. They work just fine and make plenty of power.

If I had to guess based, on the few time slips I have, I'd say the heads I got were worth around 70-80hp over my old ported gm castings. The old square port heads were a little small for the 505, and the small chambers limited my choice of pistons, so a lot of the improvement came from the new heads having properly sized ports for my application.

BUT, always a but in there, and an if,

If I had twice as much money to spend on heads I'd certainly have gotten a pair of Dart or Brodix heads for my pig block.
