peanut ports

Is there any at all that can be done to the chevy big block peanut port heads? I read in the hotrod magazine where they put them on mild 454 builds and get 400 hp. They just don't go over 4500 rpm. Anyway wondering. Thanks

Some porting and a good 3 angle valve job will help them out but they are never going to be great..if you are building a motor for the tow rig that never sees over 4500rpm any way they could be fine for that.

I have tried most all of it and now do what is known to work..
