Is that the guy in Phoenix Az that sells on eBay?

I'm in phx too and my name is Mark also! LOL but i'm a cabinet maker, not an engine builder.

At one time, before I spent my money on the engine I don't use, I considered buying an engine from Mark on ebay.

Lucky for me, I decided to have a look at his feedback. Ew, some complaints. And he responds to them by calling them idiots which is always the sign of a true professional.

I emailed one or two of the guys who complained in his feedback and they sent me a compiled journal of complaints and problems people have had with this guy (it was over 100 pages!). That was a lifesaver.

He apparently only does private auctions now so former suckers can't spread the word of how lame and incorrectly assembled his engines are. Ebay is making a mistake by letting this guy hang around.

Sorry to hear about your friends,

Erik

P.S. How is it this scammer isn't in jail yet?

E-bay can't and really shouldn't have to do anything with this guy. It is buyer beware, if people did their research as you have they wouldn't be buying his not so high performance engines. He is giving people what is listed in the auction (if he was not giving the items listed then he would deserve to be sued and banned from e-bay). I personally would not buy an engine from him, If you look closely at the photos you can see the workmanship has no pride behind it (IMO). I know I don't paint the exhaust valves etc when I build an engine but, it takes time to mask everything correctly (and time is money). The first couple of unhappy customers have a reason to be upset, anyone after that, it's their own fault. This is why e-bay has feedback, I read all feedback before I purchase from anyone.

This is just another reason why you should either deal with someone local or do the work yourself. You just can't trust everyone and if there is a problem it is a lot easier to take the engine back to the local guy. By the time you add shipping costs you probably aren't really save much. Don't get me wrong there are some good engine builders out there but, strictly judging by this guys feedback I wouldn't do business with him. This is just my opinion and I have no personal experience with this guy (hopefully that will prevent me from getting sued, LOL)

he sold my brother an engine complete all he had to do was install it and go. he failed to mention the oil pump screen was really loose so he welded it to the pump. the screen fell off broke the dipstick which went into the oil pump locked it up and broke the distributor.
another one he sold to his friend that one had no compression.
yes its the mark in az that sells on ebay.
i think he's a crook he never paid any money back either

It seems like this (insert descriptive term) is trying to open new operations.

Probably has multiple ebay accounts, goes by new generic company names, still hides bidder info...

Here's a new one from another builder in Arizona. Maybe a different guy. Maybe not.

Looks like the best thing is just to avoid absolutely everyone from Arizona you don't know personally on ebay motors.
