Pertronix Dis. ?

I have seen a few post on Pertronix ditrs. pro and con . My question is about the module . When it GOES BAD is it like the orther brands and not fire any more or has any one had one to ack like a bad coil and go when hot then is fine cold?

never heard of a pentex distributor

Proper name of the product does help


I had two modules in a conversion of a GM chevy dizzy go bad. Never used the brand since.

One quit and I was dead on the side of the road... the second one would mis-fire , popping out the tail pipe.

Several club members have had Pertronix distributors that have gone bad and they replaced modules and they went bad after a time also. They have all sworn off Pertronix and have gone to MSD.
