Peterson Vibra-motive model 50 surface grinder
Hello, Next week I'm going to look at a Peterson Vibra-motive model 50 surface grinder. This is a surface grinder for surfacing cylinder heads, manifolds, flywheels, and anything else that needs to be surfaced. I did a quick Google search and didn't turn up much but other machines for sale. Was wondering if anyone has ever run one of these grinders or has any info on how they work and anything to watch out for such has worn out parts on the machine. Anyone have a operators or service manual on this machine??
I think it is the same, or very similar to, a model 48.
I learned on a model 48 and it was ancient in the mid sixties. Not accurate and down right dangerous. Items to be "resurfaced" are hand fed into the abrasive wheel which is adjusted to set just above the table..
I may be wrong on the model no. Here is a guy that has manuals and flyers on the machine.. Peterson Surface Grinder Manual Vibra Motive Model 48 | eBay
Tho I would pass. I can do a better job with a snag/cup grinder. I never liked the hand fed machines with a horizontal UP facing stone.
