Very nice description.

What the writer of that little piece of prose forgot to mention is that the former owner of that 'phart can' probably couldn't hear the difference as his 10 megawatt stereo was probably at full volume and he was temporarily-heading-for-permanent deafness

it was his parody of the phart can

the fart can's are no different than ,the 80's guys with the lifted rear, tires 2-3" out of the well. rock hard rear shocks, and some loud muffler on a smog 307 with 200k on it.. and in the interior the am/fm cassette deck with KRACKO eq/booster..
funny how each generations forget THEY too, had the ricers.. it was just another nickname, "wannabe..".
I'm sure the 70/60/50/40/30 had the same thing just different cars and equipment

Yep! In '66 I had a '65 GTO, with it's stiff suspension and a radio reverb unit, that thing made a loud metallic "boing, boing" whenever I went over RR tracks or hit a chuck hole! Didn't stop me from using it though...
