Phenolic gasket?

Hey All,
I'm interested in using a phenolic gasket between my Edlebrock intake and Edlebrock carb. Looking on the summit site I'm not sure which one I need. Is it the 1 hole for the edlebrock or the 4 hole? Just to confirm, Holley and the Edlebrock have the same bolt pattern yes?
BTW the intake and carb are the performer series.

Get the 4 hole spacer, the open spacer is for high rpm race stuff. I'm assuming you're doing this for heat insulation? ........almost forgot, yes, same bolt pattern.

Thanks 327nut,
Yes, it's for heat insulation. The problem is hot starting. I got an 80 Elky with a crate 350. It runs relatively cool, just starting it up after its run for a while is challenging. I'm hoping this will help.

Thanks

I tend to like the wood spacers that Edelbrock sells. If it's a performer dual plane intake they make a wood spacer that keeps it a dual plane (peice in the middle) I've had problems with the Phnolic one splitting. Wood is the best insulator..
Good luck!
Scott~

How about if he has a high rise manifold would it defeat the purpose of having that type of manifold?

I'd just run a 1" 4 hole spacer, you can get them for like $10 off ebay. If you're really particular you can fill it in and grind away to make a smooth transition from the carb to the manifold- its worth a few HP. Is it a hot cranking problem though? I tcould be a starter solenoid, that's pretty common.
