Some more
Here are a few more.
I would like to thank Kid Deuce @ Flickr for allowing me to use his photograph of the Shell station as a backdrop for the Ford. Last edited by speedneeds; 05-10-2011 at 06:43 AM. |

lt1silverhawk, I am shooting with my first DSLR a Sony a100. I bought it several years ago and still trying to figure it all out.
I don't get to do as much shooting as I did a couple of years ago, but still love it and hope to get back out and do more. |

I've read the reviews on the Sony DSLRs and they clearly are pretty good. They just seem to lack the variety of lenses and other accessories that Canon and Nikon have.
If you're looking for some good pointers, Only Racing took the the time to post lots of good information in this thread for shooting at the track (from a dedicated professional's perspective): Drag Race Photography: Irwindale Speedway - July 2010 Have you considered taking photography classes? I personally have been teaching myself by researching online and then going out and practicing. There are tons of websites dedicated to teaching photography for free. I usually do a search on Google by typing something like "how to photograph drag races" or "car show photography tips". |

Thanks for the info. I will check out Only Racing's thread. I have a complete DVD course on photography I just have a hard time finding the time to watch it. My wife and I run 2 small businesses (auto repair 8 am - 6 pm and a printing company from 6 pm - whenever). The printing company is actually the start of my photography, it started out as a photo gift business/hobby and turned into a job. However over the last couple of months I have been thinking of selling the printing company and getting back into the hobby.

The course I purchased was from creativeLIVE. I caught it on sale for like $49.00. They also have live courses that are free. It is just hard to find time for the free ones.

Thanks for sharing! I may just look into that for myself.
