I've been playing around with a similar, if somewhat more radical idea:
I once read that the '71 Buick Riviera was originally supposed to be a smaller sporty car based on an A-body chassis until corporate politics turned the speed boat into a barge.
I got to playing around with the idea of what this would look like, then got to thinking about the similar lines of an early-70's Camaro ....
Plans to add 8" to the wheelbase got lost in the shuffle somewhere, but it turned out not to be needed: It looks much longer, but other than the shortened doors and the re-worked roof, it's all standard-issue Camaro under that swoopy sheetmetal
