Pick the Right Cam

Ive picked out the right cam for my car but now im worried if i will get that really lopey sound
Lift .510/.510
Duration 244/244
Lobe Centerline 108


ANY THOUGHTS ON CAM SOUND

SBC? That cam will be PLENTY lumpy,so lumpy that you will probably regret it if street driven on a daily basis.

What`s in going in? if it`s going in a 350 sure it`ll lope, that`s a sizeable cam. If it`s going in a 383 it won`t lope as much. A 400 it`ll lope some, 400`s tend to swallow up cams.

You'll need static compression ratio between 10.5:1 and 12.0:1 to make that cam work. If your SCR is less, expect the motor to be a performance turd that sounds good.

If some of you nutballs would just ask a few questions before you run pell mell into your own ignorance, you might be able to configure a combination that will give both performance and sound.

Alrighty then, should work ok, although you'll likely need more stall.

What rpm stall do you suggest?

I would expect a "rough" idle. Will probably need 3500 or higher on the converter.
