Picked up a '55
I'm thinking about rebuilding my great-grandfather's 55 1/2 ton Pickup, and looking for a good starting point. On the old Corvette my dad and I restored the suspension and rear axle first, and also I plan on addressing the rust/body issues early on as well.
To get to my question, I am just trying to get some opinions on front suspension (It has a 69 Chevelle front end in it, but needs restoring), and rear coil overs vs. leaf springs. I only plan on hauling a dirtbike occasionally, so heavy duty isn't a big deal. I have an all-original '64 409 that I would think about using, and I'm wondering if guys use different suspensions for small vs big blocks? Thanks guys! |
