I'm wondering how to properly attach my pickup truck bed after the frame rails have been boxed. I've done several searches here but haven't found anything on it yet.
Year? Make?
You should have welded nut plates to the inside of the rails before boxing. This is best done with the box in place and aligned to the body. Welding the nut plates on will lock the location very well.
Your only option now would be to use a hole saw to open up an access hole so you can get to the nut on the inside of the rail.

The truck is a 49 Dodge B1. I haven't boxed the rear section of rails yet, just looking at what's gonna happen when I do.
I've already considered the welded in nuts, that would require different type of fasteners as the stock one are carriage bolts.
This is the first pickup I've done and thought there may be some trick that I haven't seen or heard of yet. Thanks for the reply
