hairpin mounts

Usually hairpins were used when lowering the front end , changing engines and there was not enough room for the stock ford type parts , what kind of car-chassis are you planning to build. ? gasser type.. high rider. ? ?

When building my deuce I also didn't want to weld on a lower mount for the hairpins. What I did was box the frame, drill through about an inch or so up from the bottom and then I welded in a piece of thick wall tubing with an ID slightly larger than the bolt. Finished the inside and outside with large washers and a little filler to clean up the weld and make a nice fillet. They mount securely to the frame and I think they look pretty good.
