Looks good Ghetto Jet. Are you keeping your journal updated? These pics would be perfect in there; that way -- more people can keep up on your progress.

Haha, well I put the motor and trans in with just two blocks of wood and the emergency brake holding the car from rolling down the steep hill into the back yard. My dad said I was going to get myself hurt so he backed his car up against mine and then did this for extra safety...

Thanks guys I'll post all the specifics when I get back, I'm going to Pep Boys, I need a radiator, hoses, belts, and spark plugs.

I dig the two door with the dog dish hubs.

I saw an olds delta 88 yesterday with dog dish hubs, white letters and duals with a decent painjob. It was about an 83 (single color tail lights). Neat rod.

Looking good. I love all the "safety" measures.

So are these type of cars going to be the Hot Rods? Crown Vics and Caprices? i could learn to like that trend.

We used to have an '87(?) Chevy Caprice Classic Wagon, I would have loved to hot rod that thing out, LOL.

Let us know when you put fire to it...are you hooking up the exhaust completely before you fire it up?

Here is all the specifics.
Ok the motor was a new Universal 350, rated at 260hp/350tq, 4 bolt mains, PM rods.
-I switched the stock cam(.383"/.401") for a Comp Cams Xtreme Energy 268 (Dur. 268/280, lift .477/.480) matching springs/lifters
-Hooker Ceramic Coated long tube headers
-Performer RPM intake manifold
-Cloyes True Double Roller timing chain
-Edelbrock 650cfm Thunder Series carb
-180 Thermostat
-TCI Flexplate
-New A/C Delco fuel pump
-Moroso Light Weight Fuel Pump Push Rod
-New 6 3/4" balancer
-New Mallory Distributor, regular chevy style distributor with Mallory high energy parts. Adjustable vacuum advance.
-MSD 8.5mm wires

Transmission

-200-4R rebuilt with a Fairbanks Racing Automatics rebuild kit from Extreme Performance.
-Trans Action shift kit set on level 2 shift, full performance street/strip.
-TCI BreakAway Converter stall around 2400rpms
-Bowtie Overdrives Billet Servo
-Heat treated Stator Shaft
-Heat Treated Sun Gear Shell
-13 Vane Pump
-High Output Pump Slide Spring
-Perma Cool 21,000GVW trans cooler.

Rear

-Stock 7.5" open rear with 2.73 gears

I do have a 8.5" 10 bolt posi out of a police car. I already have Richmond 3.73 gears and a bearing kit for it. I still need new axles, and I'm thinking about trying one of those Richmond Power Trax units.

I've been able to spread the all the money I've dished out for these parts over a two year period so hopefully everything will work out well and I won't end up with any other major expenses.

Thanks Jon, and everyone else. I want to get this car in the journal, but I don't want to mix this Caprice and my green one.

Actually it would be great for us guys with more than one car if we could have separate places in our journals for each car, that way when people read the journal they can watch the progress of a single car as they go through the pages rather than two or more cars.

I'll get the progress on the green car caught up in the journal, than I'll put this white one in there, it will keep it more organized.

Perhaps we were separated at birth, but I'm more interested in why you have a picture of him.

No, I will be making the neighbors listen to 30 minutes of 2500rpm open header break in. The only exhaust thats on the car is the old single pipe that I will be cutting out shortly.
