Pictures from the past. Vintage Indy and Bonnivile pictures

Hey guys often while doing research on the internet I happen across interesting (at least I think they are interesting) sites, pictures, or stories about automobiles from the past. I just came across one that I'd like to share. I'll watch how this thread progresses and continue posting if there seems to be a interest. I love seeing these wonderfully crafted cars from the yesteryear. From some of the pictures on this site I was able to identify that locations are Indianapolis and early Bonneville. Anyone with any knowledge of anything speak up. I think a lot of us would like to hear what you have to say. Hope you enjoy them.

No interest at all?

Big interest, I hadn't gotten to them. First off, I HATE "Flickr" I could say a great fraise using their name in place of a four letter expletive but I will leave that for the imagination. I use photos from around the net all the time and when I see flickr, I am gone, you can't barrow the photo and that kills me.

That being said, #26, that is an AMAZING photo that I can stare at looking at every detail, amazing.

There are others "Bonneville in the 1930's is another, amazing. The Bonneville ones are the ones that grab me. I really dig those. I need to get out to speedweek one of these years before I am pushing up daisies.

Bonneville info

SCTA thinks they own bonneville, They have done a lot to "save the salt" Just like everything the Govt does , The BLM is not making the salt extraction companies stick to the redemial plans agreed to a few years ago. The Utah Locals also hold meets "Utah salt racers association" It's similar to the old dry lakes events, watch at the starting line, walk thru the pits. talk to some of the teams not in a panic to get something ready to make their back up run. There is nothing as sweet as the sound of a ported and polished Hemi pulling at 200 plus mph you can hear at the mile markers. A couple of years I went with My son and his BoyScout troop, Camped at the big bend, and The Ohio State University team took a lot of time with the boys. 3 or 4 years ago the unpredictible rocky mountain weather flooded the Flats, So if you are traveling very far always check conditions every day before the event. usually SCTA in august, USFRA in sept Then SCTA back again Oct.

The Bustle Bomb (one of my favorites from 'way back) was worth the price of admission.

Funny you mentioned that particular car. That's the car I was researching when I stumbled on to these wonderful pictures!
