pier 7 skate footage montage.

Never saw this edit of me til this morning. It's just a compilation of tricks in random videos of a particular spot we skated. Enjoy. This is what I used to do for a living before auto body.

Growing up in Minnesota, country boy, I didn't have anywhere to ride a skateboard, they just don't do well on dirt roads and shoulders. I moved to Cali when I was 24, worked for a guy doing concrete for a bit, his kids were decent skaters. I was watching them one morning before we were to leave for a job, figured it looked easy. I made it about 10 feet down the driveway before I busted my backside, never tried again. You pros are amazing but i can't help but wonder how many scrapes, busted bones, etc. you have/had to get to that level! Cool video, Henry.

thanks man. As far as the cuts and scrapes go, it's the impact of falls and twisting joints you gotta worry about. The cuts and scrapes are everyday. You learn to fall and minimize impact. This skill was truly showcased in x-games when a skater named Jake brown fell from a huge air on a monster vert ramp 50 ft in the air and only walked away with a limp. He may have broken something but it could have been deadly. He went from his feet to knee pad to elbow pad. It may have saved his life. It's a falling technique for vert skaters, just happen to work on a 50 feet drop.
