Pilot bearing install

Hello,
I am converting my 83 olds wagon from a 2004R auto to a T5 W/C manual. I have a 350 in it. The transmission/flywheel/bell housing, pedals etc came from a 92 Camaro with a 305 in it. The flywheel is about 1/2 inch smaller in diameter than the flexplate I took out. I think if I use a starter from a 305 this should fix that issue, but not sure. Everything else is going well so far. I need to know how far should I tap the roller pilot bearing into the crankshaft? Flush with the end of the crank or should I bottom the bearing as far as it will go. Thanks in advance!!!
This website rocks!
