pinion/ ring gear exchange
I was wondering if i could take the pinion and ring gear from a 8 1/2 inch rear end and put the ring gear on a 7 1/2 inch houseing, and will the pinion fit?

And you cannot go the other way either, And as long as we are at it...
A ford 7.5 WILL NOT fit in a GM 7.5 inch axle either.
