I agree with some you posted but round tubing can be used very easy..Here's one I did using the round tubing.. And you can unbolt it if you needed too..
Here's another one I did with 1''x2'' tubing,, The very samething can be done with pipe,, As far as the front crossmember.. Boxing it is the only way to go..
