I think he wants to use the rods that have dished pistons and press on dome pistons, most times it`s not recommended that pistons be rerun after there pressed off, the naked eye can`t detect the microscopic cracks in the pin area and asking for failure, but as I already said in my other post, you can`t run a dome pistons and a small chamber head like a camel hump on pump gas, you can on race gas, which comes in at about $4.50 a gallon, your welcome to try, but you`ll wish you listened when the engine self distructs from detonation. If you run the dish pistons, and a thin .028 GM head gasket, it`ll have 9.7:1 compression, which is ideal, just make sure you have the heads skim milled first to assure there perfectly flat, also if you should decide to do this, clean the ring lands out real good, then use a fine grit sand paper, and lightly polish the ring lands, this will assure it seals up good.

Do you just want to re-use your old rods?

Have a machine shop check them for cracks & bending. If they check out OK, you might want to have them install new rod bolts, just to be on the safe side.
