Based on the specs, it's going to be a low-end torquer. It's not going to make a sheetload of power. Your friend is probably not far off for the hp.

Thanks for your reply, that sounds right to me and also pretty good as engine is going in a big old heavy boat. If ya get good tourqe hp will take care of itself aye! Once again thanks for your reply.

300hp - 315Hp
Figure the Goodwrench 350 put out 239Hp stock with 7.8:1,smogger heads,wimpy stock cam with just headers and 4bbl(GM rates the same motor,only with the 350HP/327 L79 cam @290Hp) The 416 heads are better heads,healthier cam and a nice compression jump your motor has it all over that.
