please i need your input for senior capstone project

hello everyone, I am a senior at sycamore highschool in Montgomery. I am doing my capstone project on hotrods and i need some questions answered from everyday gearheads and hotrodders like all of you.
How much did it cost you to make a hot rod? how long did it take? did you use original engine or engine swap? how far in restoration process do you go? do you have educational background in mechanics and bodywork? If you can answer any of those questions i would greatly appreciate it.

well lets seeeeeee....

took 10 months to build my Tbucket. and that was my second full time job(in the garage). while making up my receipts build book i did a fast figure and looks like i'm in the $23k area.. yes i was very surprised.. it's a street rod so no i did not use orig engine.. chebby in a ford.. i did all the work myself, fabing, welding, painting.. engine was pro done and so was trans.
i just liked working on cars from a young age and learned along the way.. never did it for a living, just a hobby.

I'm gonna say almost every answer is going to be similar to this.
