Times have definitely changed. I noticed he didn't use the "under God" phrase when he recited the Pledge but he made reference to it at the end of the clip. He got very emotional at the end. He looked like he was a proud man. I've seen the same kind of passion in my grandparents but I have yet to see that in many other people in my generation.

The words "under God" was a late add on in 1954. Not sure when he did his explanation originally, but it was probably before that date.

Can you imagine adding that phrase in today's anti American atmosphere when a jerk like the Obamination can "win??" the Nobel Peace Prize for 'his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples,' (copied directly from the news release)
