plug gap

Its been a while since I worked on cars, I just got Bosch plugs for a 454 and they said the gap is .035, is that correct ? The plugs are way wider than that.

Does the 454 have points or electronic ignition?

My rule of thumb is .035 for points and .045 for electronic ignitions. Some early (1975) GM HEIs called for a .060 gap
