Plugging holes in throttle blades...
 

I have a 4412 that i plan to use on a 194cid engine. It has an Offy intake ,mild cam,headers. The carb has the holes on the blades. I really don't need them,right? what can i use to plug them?

new throttle plates work very well.

Holes like that are usually done on an engine with a wild cam to get more airflow so the idle transition slots aren't fully exposed by opening the throttle to get an acceptable idle speed.
If they are steel I weld them on the carb with a MIG on low.you have to be comfortable doing this and get it done quick and neat.Obviously no fuel in the carb :D Throttle shaft screws are staked and this
needs to be filed off and or drilled. Brass screws or sometimes steel ones will shear off making a mess of things.
4412 Holley is a fairly large carb for a 200 inch mild engine.

I have used electrical solder to plug throttle blade holes with good results.

You can use aluminum pop rivets. Not pretty but at least for testing purposes it works and is easily reversible. If you come to the conclusion you don't need the holes I would replace the throttle blades as has been suggested.
