poison ivy?????

i have a pretty bad case of poison ivy right now.
it started on my arms, but now its moved to my hands, face, back, legs, ahh testis and just about everywhere else.
i haven't been scratching it, hell it hardly even itches, but it sure as hell is spreading fast.

my question is, are there ANY home remedies and/or medications that get rid of it? FAST?

thanks

thanks for the advise, but knowing me, i'll have to be an inch from death before i'll go.
see, i have that "oh no, my arm just got ripped off" kinda insurance. meaning, the insurance company starts paying after the bill goes over $1,500.
now you know why i walked out when i cut my hand..........

Make sure you wash all clothes, towels, steering wheel and whatever else came in contact with the poison ivy - anything you touched! Otherwise, it will keep spreading for a long time.

And you really outta go see a doctor!

I had a very bad case of this when I was a kid. Tried all types of creams with no success. Just by accident I discovered that salt water will get rid of it. Get the bathtub full enough to submerge the effected areas, pour a lot of salt in an soak in there every day for 30 minutes to an hour. You should see and feel results in about 3 days. Mine was completely gone in 10 days. Give it a try and let us know if it works for you.

i'll just have to try that. thanks

i was thinking about taking a peice of scotchbrite and some rubbing alcohol and going at it. the scotchbrite will bust the bubbles and the alcohol should dry out my skin enough to kill it.

thanks for the replys

The guys on the Pirate 4x4 forum swear by this stuff. You're allergic to the oil from the plant and this Zanfel stuff washes the oil off your skin. http://zanfel.com/

I found out, even if you haven't been in posion ivy, but your dog has...you can get the oil from the dog on your skin and break out.
