Polishing Flattened clear

I tried a search but came up with nothing so I will ask away ! I used a flattened clear on a set of Harley fenders and a tank I did for a friend (not completely flat just down to a semi gloss ,not quite satin. I did it in my garage and it looks pretty nice but there is the odd chunk of crap so I was thinking about wetsanding it and polishing , will it bring out a shine or just eliminate the scratches and give it the original shine or should I say dullness?

If you polish it will gloss up...
Without seeing it ,,, try 2000 grit dry only on the nibs and then a soft ez pressure brush/wipe with steel wool ... ...follow through just rubbing pushing with your bare hand kinda.

The "foam" discs in a 4000 grit leaves a nice uniform semi-gloss
finish, it might be just right for what you're talking about.
If it's to shiney, maybe a 2000 grit pad.
I did some low gloss rubbing on a wooden table by using a 2000 pad
then followed with a low speed buffer and rubbing compound.
I buffed with a real slow speed,
slow enough that the compound stayed wet and didn't
get flung off. Then when I wiped it off I had a semi-gloss finish
that was uniform. You might be able to do that.
