Polishing Imron 5000 paint?

Hey guys me again..

I'm still experimenting with this single stage paint. So I painted a panel which had some small dust get on it. I color sanded it with 1500 and tried to buff it out with some 3m compound and the red pad. It unlike clear coat it will not buff out to a pure shine. The scratches are out but there is a milky haze and the black is not as jet black anymore. Any suggestions on how to polish this back to a shine or if its even possible? Thanks

Imron is an industrial coating and is not designed to be wet sanded and buffed.

Imron can be buffed and is done on boats quite extensively. You don't hear about it as much in the automotive business as most have gotten away from Imron due to the hazards of either breathing it or absorbing through the skin. I've beffed Imron on a few occasions with excellent results. One quick search turned this up http://www.stanleymotorcarriage.com/...Finishing1.htm

the haze and loss of black is micro scratches. I use the new 3m compound and blue pad with excellent results on black, although I haven't used it on Imron I would expect good results.
