Hey guys, I recently pulled my Chevelle out of the garage from a long winter, and noticed that my rims were pretty dirty, and my exhaust tips were a little rusty. I use Eagle One NevRDull on them, and the tips came out like mirrors, but the wheels just arnt polishing. I did my best, I was outside doing it for litterally 3 hours, and it still looked like there were spots on my wheels. These things are less then a year old, and have never been drivin in inclimate weather. I am just nervous that these are stained. Is there any techniques that anyone has tried, or has anyone even experienced anyhting like this? Thanks for the help.

FYI American wheel has a polish in a can that kind of reminds me of NEVER Dull, however it is by no means the same product. I have used this for the past 2 years and it works very well. The spots could be stains, with that in mind I think I would use the manufacturer's suggested product to try and remove unwanted stains and marks. The secret to polishing alum wheels is easy on the pressure, so as not to add scratches to the mirror finish. Another good product for these wheels is Eagle One, get the PH balanced . Water will also spot alum. The method for cleaning your wheels should go like this. Cold wheels, first wash them with the Eagle One product and then polish the rims. Apply the polish and let it haze before buffing ( hand buffing )

I here the mothers powerball is the only way to go. Letting your cordless drill to the work. Has anybody tried one of these.

While at the boat show a couple of weeks ago, I bought a product called Prism polish. I believe it was designed to be a deoxidizer for fiberglass boats, but was also good for metal. Its fantastic! I couldn't believe how well it worked on aluminum. It reminded me of mother's, but with half the effort.

I know from experience that you can't get those stains out by hand. I have a set of those wheels.

There are two ways to polish the wheels that makes it very easy. The first is the Mothers Powerball, which works well for the price. I use that along with the mag and aluminum polish.

The second and better method is with the flitz power wheel. It's a more robust polishing ball and really can bring out the shine. It's also more expensive, but works faster still.

With either of these methods all your wheels will look much, much better after about 1/2 hour.

I have tried the "abrasive" cleaners on my aluminum wheels with success, but I recently tried a "chemical" cleaner with greater success. I bought it from Adam's Polishes and there are two levels of cleaner. I didn't rub hard like in the past. Google his website and he has videos explaining all of the products. It is a great website with lots of information. I emailed him and he responded very quickly and with great information. Try it.....you may like it.

That is the primary reason when I am ready for my Torq Thrust's, they will be the chrome plated variety.

McDuff, if you like the chemical cleaners try one of the the power buffs. I think you'll like it so much better you'll sit there and stare at the wheel.

Just used the new "foose ball" this weekend on a set of 4X4 rims that havent been polished or even cleaned for that matter since last fall, that thing is absolutley amazing, a little mothers liquid mag polish and a drill and about 20 min. per wheel and they looked BETTER than new, really they shined like chrome, give it a try, ALOT less work than polishing by hand and well worth the money IMO.

When I've had pretty bad aluminum or chrome I've used Blue Magic. It doesn't smell too good, kind of like ammonia, but it will make aluminum look like chrome, and really bring a sparkle to actual chrome.

about the same thing, really the powerball is cheaper, the "fooseball" is just made by chip foose and probably just paying for the name, I got it from a buddy for a small welding job is the only reason for having it
