Poll: how many of you voted in the last presidential election?

Voter turnout in this country is usually not a high percentage of eligible voters. I have been reading some of the political posts on this board and it just got me to wondering if the people doing all the complaining even bothered to vote in the last election. I have always believed that if you do not participate in the system them you have no right to complain about it. I do not mean to enrage anyone.

I am just curious about how many of you voted in the last presidential election.

I don't care who you voted for.

Just so you went and voted is all that really counts. Bottom line, the choice is yours to make, use it or loose it! Get out and VOTE!

I voted. I se no reason not to. Unless the stinkin' electoral votes start to swing away from the citizens votes I'll keep on voting, it does make a difference most of the time.

Look here,
http://www.historyhouse.com/in_histo...toral_college/

Quote:
In 1888, Benjamin Harrison got elected over incumbent Grover Cleveland, who actually had a stronger showing in the popular vote. Cleveland whomped the poo out of Harrison in 18 states, while Harrison only slightly edged Cleveland in 20. Ergo, Harrison won, but more people voted for Cleveland.
Nothing has changed in how the electoral process works. If an elector representing your state felt like voting for Donal Duck he could very well do so. There is no law requiring an elector to accurately represent the popular vote by the citizens. Actually our votes don't really count in an presidential election. The ones that really matter are for the representatives that will be voting for us.

Larry
