The head number are embossed on the center exhaust ports on Pontiacs and the block code is stamped into the block just below the passenger cylinder head. The year of the engine is embossed on the top of the block right behind the distributor.

If it has the OEM engine you'll have a pair of 6X-8 or 6S heads. They have 101CC chambers and run 2.11in and 1.66ex valves.
