pontiac 400 wont start

ok first things first i drove my car which is a 1970 pontiac catalina to the BBQ place. when i got back i changed the oil n now it wont start. i dont think it has anything 2 do with the oil change but i figured id tell you everything right before hand. ok so i replaced my distributor cap rotor button the ignition coil cleaned the carb. and nothing all it does is turn over sometimes it will start but runs like crap misses back fires iv checked the timing when i could get it running and its right were its soposed to be what could be wrong.

ok i fixed it! but being i dont know the name of the part i wont be able to give a good explanation on this. but ill try 2 explain what i did any way in case someone else has the same problem. what it was is i wasnt geting spark on all cylinders it turned out under the distributor cap on the distributor theirs a breakable ground which breaks and re contacts when spark is needed making a switched ground i guess is what it would be. well the contact plat was a lil wore and it was getting a constant ground. all i did was adjust the screw and it runs like a champ now
