Pontiac 455 exhaust question

I have a 455 in a '77 Firebird/Trans Am that I am starting to build up with some of my friends. The engine is bored to 468 cubic inches. I am just learning so I don't know much. My idea was to put Hooker Super Comp Headers on it, and a 3" exhaust back to Flowmaster Delta 40 Series mufflers.

One guy told me it would be too extreme and another told me I should do it because I will be glad i did when the engine is built up more. Anybody have any suggestions?

A 3" system sounds good to me With a 468 and future mods, a 3" system is a wise choice.

Check out this site, this is what I have. Pretty much a bolt on system.
