pontiac 455 or rocket 455
Which engine do you guys think has the most performance potential

engine choice
I believe each sits in the engine compartment differently. One is higher the other is wider. I would base my decision on the vehicle I was planning on putting it in. Cubes is cubes.

I would build the Olds

Obvious
The olds is better - only because I have one in my '72 Cutlass! Just kidding.
Actually I don't know what kind of performance potential there is. Mondello has done some amazing things with olds motors. There is more aftermarket coming out for the olds though. Edelbrock now makes aluminum heads that are reasonably priced. Andy |

Just curious to see what everyones opinion was, has anyone compaired the flow potential of their various heads?

I've built both. I'd give the pontiac a slight advantage due to the parts issues. It's been 20 years since I've messed with pontiacs and 10 years since I've built an olds motor so things might have changed as far as parts go. In the end I'd keep themotor the make as the car.
