Pontiac engine ID

Hi , I have a 1968 firebird just bought. The code on the front passenger side near the head is 541002 under these # is XV I can not find the casting number at the rear deck.the date code on the back ends with a 6
I believe it is a 400 small block . Any help ? Thanks

Also, there is no Pontiac "small block", all of the Pontiac blocks (350, 400 ,421, 428, & 455) are the same size.
