The eighth digit in the vin will tell you. If the 8th is an H or an E it is a 305.

i don't know. if the original 305 from the factory was a roller than it's got a roller. it's a 91 firebird

If the engine is original check the vin.an H code was a 5.0 roller w carb
an E code is a 305 roller w TBI

91s all came from the factory with fuel injection. All the cars got roller cams. There are different grinds of roller cams. There are also different exhaust systems.

sounds right. In 87 my monte carlo had a 5.0 H it was roller with carb(quadrajet) in 88 The H was Fuel Injected in the car but still carbed in the pickups.89 up vin H was Fuel Injected. I am sure they made a lot of both for the pickups in 88 (carb and EFI)

The cars got the roller cams and the trucks didn't. They had different size dumps on some of the exhaust manifolds. They also had 3 inch exhaust on the performance cars. The TPI heads are different from the TBI heads.
