I have a 72 firebird with a 350 that has been bored 30 over. I want to use #670 gto heads. does anyone know what if any modifications need to be made to make them work?

The 670 heads with 72cc chambers should give you 9.34:1 compression ratio which should work ok with premium fuel - especially if you have an aftermarket cam. I prefer to stay around a flat 9:1 ratio with a stock cam, but you should be ok. The heads will bolt on without problems, but you should upgrade to an adjustable valve train. The 670 heads used a screw-in rocker stud that bottle necks down to 3/8" and the stock valve train just required torquing the rocker arm nuts to 20 foot pounds. Now you might get away with the stock system if you have the stock cam, but spend a little money and get a set of BBC rocker studs that don't neck down and are 7/16" on the top also. Then pick up a set of 7/16" polylocks and manually set the clearance. I'm not sure if the stock push rods will be okay with the 670 heads, so this also will require checking that the rocker arm rides correctly on the valve stem.
