Post pontiac rear with 4-link factory?

hello,

i was in the process of searching out a s10 10-bolt 8.5" because the width was perfect for what i needed.

i was talking to a guy who told me that around the years of 1985 that the pontiac grandprix used a factory 4-link suspension, and that the rear was the same width as the s10 rear.

does anyone have any info on what exactly he is referring too?
also more info about the rear itself, as to how strong it is, whats it known as, and are LSD's and gears readily available?

thx

Chevelles and ALL it's brothers (Cutlass, Mont Carlo, Skylarks and Gran Prix) were factory 4 link cars. They ride on coil springs.

how do these rear ends that i would find in an older gran prix, skylark, etc compare to that of a 8.5" 10-bolt?
