I've been searching and searching with a lot of different answers. I have a 75 pontiac catalina 4 door and i am trying to get rid of these airplane gears in it. the diff cover has 10 bolts with the ) ( on the sides at 3 oclock and 9 oclock position. the ring gear and carrier have 12 bolts that are a left hand thread.I'm guessin a 7/16 bolt. the axles do have c clips and do not bolt on at the drum end like i keep reading. the best i can measure the ring outside diameter is right at 8.75" it is also a open rear with spider gears and all.. SOmeone please help me to identify what gears i need to order.thanks in advance.

nope. that cover is not scalloped on the sides like mine. mine also has a fill plug in the cover forgot to mention.

Sounds like that wierd Olds 10 bolt with a 12 bolt carrier, REALLY hard to find parts for from what I have seen.

thanks for your help guys.but i have already checked those site and i can't find the right one.I keep readin about the p series for pontiac but that says it has bolt in axles and i have the c clips.i did email richmond maybe they can help me out too. i did write the numbers down off of the carrier and they are

Actually I believe it was the other way around. A friend had a 69 Cutlass 442, 12 bolt cover, 10 bolt carrier.
