POR-15 gas tank resto kit

Hey Guys! I know there are differing opinions on POR-15 products, but I just wanted to share my experience with the gas tank resto kit they offer.

When I pulled out my '64 Corvair tank (between the trunk and the front floorboard) it was filled with a strong-smelling "coffee ground" type substance. The old fuel had turned to tar and had mixed with the rust in the tank.

Well, to make a long story (and project) short, I followed all the instructions in the POR-15 kit and the tank sealer worked great. The hardest part of the job was to make sure all the tar build-up was out of the tank. The Marine Clean in the kit got most of it, but I had to also use some acetone to get the rest. The Metal Ready cleaned up the surface rust and left a coating that was a perfect prep for the sealer. I used the Metal Ready on the outside also and then painted the whole tank with POR-15 gloss black.

IT'S ALMOST TOO PURTY TO PUT BACK IN THE CAR!!!

How could anyone not like Por15? Probably someone that can't follow directions.
