Porsche 915 transaxle question

My question is what type of differential is in these transaxles?
My boss has a 1980 porsche 911sc that he does some road racing with. Last week he had a blowout coming back from an event and ended up driving it about 100 miles on two different sized rear tires.
I know this can be hard on the clutches in a limited slip but I have no idea what type of differential was used in these cars. Not sure if we should be concerned about damge to the diff. or not.
It's possible that this isn't even the original transaxle - car was gone through before he purchased it and he didn't ask many questions.

i'm pretty sure that engine is very similar to the VW style ones? 5 speed and has the axles coming out of the side of the trans and its installed backwards with engine in the rear?

if so it has an open carrier stock, if it had the limited slip it would have been in pieces after 100miles with different tires and also would have taken out the other gears

I know the 915 transaxles are not too good but it's likely been upgraded - car's not completely stock, it's a racecar. Motor has some changes made (cam for sure and maybe pistons), windshield is lexan, seats have been removed and two racing seats installed, it has a different clutch, roll cage, etc....
Not so sure it is a limited slip after all, had it in the air and when in neutral if I turned one wheel the other would follow it in the same direction but if I held one still and had the boss turn the other wheel it did not take much effort to get it turning. If I put it in gear and turned one wheel, the other would turn the opposite direction.
I asked him to contact the previous owner to get a full list of the modifications to the car. BTW the motor is a 180 deg. opposed 3.0 liter six cylinder (NA).
