Question is, why do you want ported vacuum?
Nearly every engine in every situation likes manifold vacuum.

Mine doesn't.
351W stroked to 393 - Mighty Demon, MSD billet, Lunati voodoo cam - won't idle below 1700 rpm with manifold vacuum.

I thought that I wrote "nearly every".

Sounds like a case of a carb problem being blamed on the ignition.
If hooking up the manifold vacuum causes your engine to rev up and you can't get it to idle down to the rpm it does on ported vacuum,
Bring your car into my shop and I will fix it for you.

Scot, I'd love to - but I'm in Cambridge, England. Bit of a trek.

It's the same with the Edelbrock, a Demon vac.sec and the Mighty Demon. No leaks, no detectable problems - dyno guys reckon it's how this motor is, and tell me to stick with the ported.
