Ported Vacuum

I would have to dis-agree on the need to have vacuum advance to improve idle and hesitations/bogs.Your idle could be mis-adjusted float level or idle screws, timing also has an effect on idle.As far as hesitation/bogs that could be an incorrect accelerator nozzle size or the accelerator pump lever not adjusted properly or even the wrong(or blown) power valve.I unhooked the vacuum advance on mine 2 years ago and now have no lag or spark knock like before.Contrary to what you might read or hear,un-hooking the vacuum advance is not detrimental to spark plug longeivity or decreased fuel mileage.Just my 2 cents worth!
