posi ?

I have just put a posi in my 55. The unit is for a 55-64 old drop out. Long story made short. I got this off E-bay installed and gear noise had it rebuilt. I put richmond gears and lube in it. Lube is gl-6 75w-140. When I make a Sharp turn it feels rough and jerky. Going straight it is fine. My question is this normal? Should I use Gl-5 75-90. I did not add any posi additive because it should have had it in the lube, should I?
Thanks

It may be IF the oil had the proper additives for posi... mayb the oil has not fully lubed up the clutch pack yet??

I would add posi additive or use Mobil 1 gear oil. I've had real good luck with Mobil 1 myself...

Needs an additive. Even though some GM posi units dont require it. I had an Eaton and the shop put in a modifier for posi units. Yes needs additive or modifier

Always add some of the GM Posi-additive when filling a posi-unit. It's an additive because the regular lubes do not have it. It is made especially for posi-units. It used to be made out of whale oil - a long time ago, but now is made of other materials

The lube you put in already has additives in it for limited slips.

Use the Gl-5 75-90w AND the GM posi additive. If it's making the noise and acting like you described it needs the additive. Do not use any of the synthetic lubes.

Even if the gear oil has the additives, it's never enough. Add the good stuff from GM.
