possible to make pwr windows from wrecker parts
I'd like to make power windows in my 57 chev pickup using wrecker parts. Has anyone seen this done? Any tech articles?

Of course it is possible. That's the way it was done back in the 70s-80s when you couldn't pick up the phone and buy a kit.
If your truck has the typical GM rotating crossbar and 2 channel setup like the cars you should have no trouble doing this. First of all, get a new felt glass channel kit and have it ready to install when you're done fabricating and ready to finish up. This will allow your new window setup to work like NEW.
We used the rear window setups from the back doors of a mid-size Olds 4door sedan form the late 70s-early 80s on the swap we did into a 38 Chevy coupe.
The reason? Rear door mechanism see far less use than do front ones.
You might be able to buy the complete doors for a good price, that makes it easier to see how things work and move and so on while you're figuring how to change your doors. It took us about 8-10 hours to do the passenger side door and about 2 hours to do the driver's side.
You may have to shorten the arms on the mechanisms, or not. You may be able to use the original channels the locators slide in and attach the brackets to your original glass channels that the glass sits in. Once it is sitting in front of you you'll see what needs to be done.
